From dominant pitching to consistent offensive firepower, players across the area continue to raise the bar. Here are some of the biggest highlights making waves right now.
Devyn Somers Reaches 500 Strikeouts

A major milestone was achieved by Devyn Somers, a standout Class of 2027 pitcher from Venus High School. Somers reached 500 career strikeouts, a remarkable accomplishment that cements her status as one of the top arms in the region. Her poise in the circle, pinpoint control, and powerful fastball have made her nearly untouchable this season.
Ayleen Castillo Leads the Way with the Bat

Ayleen Castillo, a 2026 catcher from Molina High School, is tearing it up at the plate with an eye-popping .634 batting average, making her one of the top hitters in the area. Her consistent ability to square up pitches and drive the ball to all fields has turned her into an offensive force and a key contributor for her team.
Freshman Phenom: Iselah Johnson

From Duncanville High School, Iselah Johnson, a Class of 2028 pitcher, is making a big statement in her freshman season. With over 100 strikeouts already under her belt, Johnson is showing maturity and command beyond her years. Her mix of velocity and movement has quickly earned her respect across the district.
Strikeout Machine: Madison Lee

Also representing Duncanville, Madison Lee (Class of 2026 Clark Atlanta University Commit) has surpassed 200 strikeouts this season, continuing to dominate in the circle. Her experience and leadership have been instrumental in Duncanville’s success, and her relentless approach makes her a cornerstone of the team’s pitching staff.
Defensive Excellence: Alyssa Wilson Named Gold Glover

From Brewer High School, Alyssa Wilson, a senior first baseman (Class of 2025 Delta State University Commit), was recently recognized as a Gold Glover by Extra Innings Softball.
